Welcome to Frogging News, where I share hand-picked cross-stitch, hand embroidery, and needlepoint finds for stitchers who want help sorting through what’s actually worth their time. I created this site to make it easier to find your next project, keep up with needlework news, and discover designers, kits, and community updates before they disappear into the scroll.
I’ve been stitching for years, and I bring that same curiosity to the way I research this site — looking for the releases, resources, and little industry shifts that feel most useful, interesting, or genuinely worth bookmarking.
My Stitching Story
I’ve tried nearly every kind of stitch craft — from embroidery samplers and plastic canvas to full-size needlepoint canvases. While I love them all, needlepoint has always been my favorite.
My favorite needlepoint canvas is Curly Paws. The art is by Terry Runyan. I don’t know who painted the canvas as I got it from Needlepoint Destashing.
As a lifelong internet junkie, I spend my days diving down digital rabbit holes, exploring social platforms, and bookmarking every exciting update, designer release, and new kit that pops up. Eventually, I realized all that research could help others too — so Frogging News was born!
Because I’ve spent years stitching across multiple needlework crafts, I’m especially interested in resources that help beginners get started, as well as the kinds of designs and updates that make longtime stitchers stop and take notice.
How I Choose What to Feature
I look for needlework finds that are useful, interesting, beginner-friendly, visually inspiring, or clearly getting attention in the stitching community. Sometimes that means highlighting a new pattern release or book announcement. Other times it means sharing a practical resource, a stitch-along, a fundraiser, a magazine reveal, or a small update that stitchers may want to know before they buy or begin a project.
I’m especially interested in the kinds of things that can get lost on social media: designer launches, notable new kits, community buzz, beginner-helpful resources, and the little developments that show what people are actually excited about.
