Austitch is the name of a fiber arts stitching club local to central Texas. The club also does charity fundraising and is in their third year. This event is hosted by Rhiannon Gragg, Amanda DeLong and Allison K Murphy. For this year’s charity work the team has gathered approximately 200 items of various fiber arts and stitching related items made by volunteers to be auctioned off. All of the proceeds from the auction (with the exception of shipping fees) go straight to the charity benefactor of the year. This year the Austitch Club is focusing on the Austin Bat Refuge. They say that Austin is the bat capital of North America but even so the critters are still feared and misunderstood. The organization works on rehabilitation and release of orphaned and injured bats, conflict resolution with businesses and homeowners, as well as education through online and in-person events.
Best wishes and happy stitches!
