Jessica Walker’s Hand Embroidery Made it to a Music Video!

I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME – Leave Me Alone (Fan Curated Video) embroidery by Jessica Walker

Indie pop band I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME put out a call for art inspired by their song Leave Me Alone and Jessica answered. Her fanart is one many featured in the music video with hers near the beginning at the 0:30 mark. You can read more about the piece in the Instagram below, but Jessica says she used watercolored fabric with hand embroidered letters.

Jessica is on Instagram at makeitsewwithjess and in another post, she says being in a music video is a childhood dream come true. Jessica also says that it’s not her best work, but I think the casualness fits right in with the vibe of the other artwork and song as a whole. This music video came out last year, but I’m still happy to have recently discovered Jessica and her work. She does hand embroidery, cross-stitch, and felt work.

The musical group itself, abbreviated as iDKHOW, is an unsigned band whose music has been described as indie pop, but the lead vocalist Dallon Weekes has called their music “hipster nonsense” and “glam wham”. Apparently Weekes has stated that he draws inspiration from the pop culture of the 1980s. As an 80s kid, I definitely liked their sound. Thanks Jessica!
