Spoiler: I loved it. It’s damn hilarious. A Bitch in Time: 30 Snarcastic Stitches for You to Stab a cross-stitch book by siblings Tara Reed and Roy Reed. Art by Erin Bennett.
Snarky cross-stitch isn’t for everyone. But if it hasn’t been your day, your week, your month or even your year, A Bitch in Time will be there for you. Probably. It’s hard to say.
Be sure and check out your local bookseller. You can also get a copy from their Etsy shop: A Bitch In Time: 30 Snarcastic Stitches For You to Stab, Volume 1 Cross-Stitch Pattern Book.
This snarky cross-stitch book has it all. The good, the bad, and the Sascrotch (just say no to bikini waxes). In the book’s introduction, Tara is the voice of A Bitch in Time as she was the one awarded her high school’s ‘Most Sarcastic Female’. Not only does she come from a crafty family, but many of them are involved in the book. Brother Roy loved his sister’s sense of humor, and it was his idea to turn Tara’s jokes into cross-stitch. Roy designs the patterns, and sister Erin does the artwork. And Mom Helen does the test stitching. That Sascrotch pattern actually made me blush. I can’t imagine having my own mother cross-stitch some of these lol.
I love that this cross-stitch book dives right into what the 30 designs look like. That makes it easy to thumb through to find something you like. The finished patterns up front also make for a good read partly because Tara includes extra sarcastic humor (examples below). There’s also suggestions on how to change up each pattern to make it your own.
Following that are the pattern designs. Each fits on one or two pages. Easy peasy. Next up are the nitty-gritty pages on how to use the book, the patterns, and LOTS of info for beginners. They also have some fun extras at the end of the book including three new patterns! But ya gotta go get them 😉
Okay, okay. Let’s get to the goods!
Just kidding. Let’s do some links first:

First time I’ve ever been flipped off by a cross-stitch before. I like it!
